We are committed to providing a high level of expertise with friendly and personalised care

As a local Dunedin and Otago business, Beaumont & Bridgmount supports the community by assisting causes that help others.

In 2015 we donated $7,000 to Cargill Enterprises to purchase an electronic food-weighing machine.

Beaumont & Bridgmount sponsor a puppy for the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind and have done so for many years. To find out more or sponsor a puppy yourself, visit

Volunteer Ophthalmic Services Overseas (VOSO)

Do you have old, unwanted spectacles, including distance, reading and sunglasses?

Please bring them along to your next appointment or when suits. We are part of a project to redistribute unwanted glasses to people in Pacific Island countries through VOSO.

Mark Bridgmount has visited Fiji twice and Tonga once with Volunteer Ophthalmic Services Overseas. Each time he was met with vast queues and it was not uncommon for three or four optometrists to see up to 300 people in a day. The group spends two weeks performing eye tests and simple eye surgery and distributes glasses to those who otherwise would not receive them.

Glaucoma New Zealand

Beaumont and Bridgmount Optometrists support Glaucoma New Zealand.

This association is dedicated to supporting people living with glaucoma, as well as providing preventative education for the general public. We endeavour to operate an environmentally conscious practice including recycling as much as possible.
